It is a desire of every woman to have a controlled menstrual cycle because there may be times when having a period is absolutely undesirable. There can be several different reasons that affect the duration and intensity of a period like age, hormonal imbalance, medication or stress. It is for this reason intensity and duration of a period differs from one woman to another.

No matter what you want to control your period for, the present day science has devised several methods to boost your period up. Following are given some of the different ways that can help you speed your period up.

Make Sure You Are In Good Overall Health: The first thing that you need to do is to have a good look of your overall health. If this requires meeting a gynecologist, must do it. Menstrual periods normally start by the age of 15 or 16. If you don’t have by this age, meet the gynecologist. Similarly, having irregular period cycle or bleeding, you must consult your gynecologist rather than sitting and worrying about your pain.

Consult With Your Doctor About Taking The Pill: Next thing that you can do for minimizing your period cycle is to proceed with pill. This will help you in several ways, i.e. your period will begin to appear on time, and the other thing that you will observe is the shortened and light period. You cannot use oral contraceptives without the prescription of the doctor. Better consult your doctor before taking any oral contraceptives. Your doctor may prefer you to begin with low estrogen pill.

Exercise Regularly: Regular exercise is another key factor that helps you speed up your period and make it occur on regular basis. It is not that you don’t exercise during your period rather keep light exercises during your period as well. Regular exercise is not only good for your overall health, but it also helps in improving the blood flow and circulation which is good for easement from cramps or bloats. One thing you need to keep in mind while doing exercise is to keep yourself hydrated. It is also suggested not to involve yourself in over exercise as this may result in skipping periods as it happens with many female athletes.

Try Acupuncture or Acupressure: If you are the one who wants a non-interruptive method of altering your periods, consult an acupuncturist or acupressurist. Trying acupuncture or acupressure will help getting the right response from stimulated pressure points. In majority of situations, these two techniques help in regulating the blood flow and circulation and in turn help tonify the reproductive organs. However, it may stop the menstrual cycle completely which is not recommended. Better talk to your acupuncturist about the reasons behind speeding up your periods.

Take Tea: Another way to improve your period cycle is by using different types of herbal teas which are available easily such as red raspberry leaf tea. You can use it before, during and after the period cycle as this will help detoxifying your body in a natural way.

These are some of the methods to speed up your period. However, some of them may not be of any help to you but there is no harm in trying them all. Always consult your doctor to discuss the use of any of these methods.
