Three Day Detox Diet
For most of the people detox diet is nothing more than to lose few extra pounds, but in fact detox diet is used to get rid of excessive toxins accumulated in different areas of the body. All the food items which are processed or packaged, rich in fats and sugar contents along with other additives are not good for health. You diet is not only the culprit, air pollution and stress can also be responsible for the toxins buildups. To keep yourself fit and healthy, it is a not a bad idea to have a three day detox program every few months.
Foods to Consume
To aid the detox process it is better to use raw fruits and vegetables during the 3 day detox program. Using raw fruits and vegetables will retain their natural nutrients and give you maximum protection against the toxins build ups. The healthy fruits and vegetables include apples, bananas, avocados, cabbage, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. These fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber that has the natural tendency to remove the toxins and other waste products from the body. Using fresh juices instead of tea, coffee and soda is also helpful.
It is natural to have withdrawal symptoms when you stop consuming something you are used to. It is sometimes hard to quit the canned or processed food when your body has become used to consuming it each day. In this case, you may face some side effects in the form of headache, irritability, diarrhea, flue etc. if you want to prevent these side effects; it is good to cut down the consumption of such food few days before the detox. In that case, the intensity of the side effects would be less and you will easily fulfill the requirements of the 3 day detox program.
For getting the maximum benefits from the 3 day detox program, you have to stick to a proper plan. It is better to take 8-10 glasses or 64 ounces of water each day. To keep your mind clear and relax it is better to take a 20 minutes moderate paced walk. Also brush your teeth regularly and to keep yourself from eating, do some activity to divert your attention. Three days are more than enough for this program, instead of prolonging the duration of program, it is better to come back to this program every few months. Prolonged program may result in losing the energy as you have to rely only on fresh fruits and vegetables.
